چکیده
The aim of this study was to investigate the possible reproductive effects of Genistein and β-Sitosterol on Kutum (Rutilus frisii) broodstock during of migrating to rivers for spawning. The fish were exposed to 3 levels of Genistein and β-Sitosterol (500, 50 and 10 ngl-1) separately. After 21 days, the levels of 17 beta-estradiol (E2) and testosterone (T) were measured and the ovarian status was studied. The results showed compare to the control, E2 level was lower in exposed fish to β-Sitosterol, While Genistein increased level of E2 in fish affected by 500ngl-1. The comparison of ovarian tissue in different treatments showed that oocytes mainly were in stages two and three, and the oocytes diameter was affected by different levels of Genistein and β-Sitosterol. Finally, this study showed, Genistein and β-Sitosterol at high concentrations during Kutum migration could alter ovarian structure and development of oocytes which associated with some changes in sex steroid hormones, especially the 17 beta-estradiol.
