Phenolic compounds are one of the most abundant metabolites of plants. These compounds enter the aquatic ecosystems through different ways and consequently threat aquatic animal health as well as human life. In this project, the effect of different concentrations of water-borne genistein flavonoid on hematological parameters, including the number of red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin concentration (Hb), percentage of hematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) and differential count of white blood cell were studied in common carp weighing 52-82 g. In this study, 5 different treatments of genistein, including 14.8, 28.8, 65.0, 127.3, 223.6 µg/l and a control group were considered in a period of 30 days. At the end of experiment, 7 fish from each treatment were randomly selected and blood samples were then withdrawn. The results showed no significant changes in all measured parameters as compared with the control group. Therefore, the tested concentrations of genistein in the present study could not cause deleterious effects on common carp hematopoiesis. This indicates that phenolic compounds in current conditions did not have any toxic effects on common carp.

Length-weight relationship and some biological parameters of Alosa braschnikowi (Borodin 1904) were studied from coastlines of the Caspian Sea (Guilan Province, Iran). . A total of 103 fish specimens were caught on a monthly basis using gill-net and beach seine net from were sampled from three stations i.e. Astara, Anzali, and Kiashahr. The age range in females (1+-4+) was greater than that of males (1+-3+). The total length of the males and females were 18-42 and 19-42 cm, and the fork lengths were 16-38 and 16-39 cm, respectively. The length frequency varied from 30-34 cm. The weight of males and females were 45-570 and 50-810 g, respectively. The mean total length, fork length, and total weight were 29.26±4.70, 26.88±24.4 and 231.36±130.44 g, respectively. The mean gonadosomatic index of the whole population was 1.64±1.81, where the minimum and maximum values were observed in autumn and spring, respectively. The mean hepatosomatic index and condition factor for the whole population were 0.78±0.34 and 0.083±0.13, while minimum and maximum values were recorded in summer and spring, respectively. Considering that CF>1 is an indicator of good feeding condition, the CF values obtained in this study suggests poor feeding condition for the species. The relationship of total length-weight for the whole population, males and females were W=0.0029 L3.2954 (r2=0.91), W=0.0022 L3.3742 (r2 =0.89) and W=0.0052 L3.1409 (r2=0.93), respectively. T-test showed positive alometric (b>3) growth pattern for both sexes and the whole population.

Yersinia ruckeri is the etiological agent of Yersinia septicemia or yersiniosis of farmed fishes. In this study, Y. ruckeri isolates were isolated and characterized in the case of phenotype, biotype as well as their patterns of whole cell and outer membrane proteins. Seven isolates were recovered from rainbow trout farms in the Mazandaran, Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh-va-Boyerahamad, and Zanjan provinces during spring and summer 2018. These isolated Yersinia plus five previously recovered isolates form the North Khorasan and Western Azarbaijan Gharbi were identified as Y. ruckeri based on their phenotype, biotype and molecular characterization. All isolates were biotype one with the high identical patterns of whole cell proteins and outer membrane proteins in electrophoresis. These results illustrated that Y. ruckeri as the cause of yersiniosis in farmed rainbow trout in Iran Y. ruckeri isolates are mostly homogenous showing low diversity and thus, could be useful in further preventive studies such as vaccination.

Nowadays the herbal drugs products and their derivates are used as an immunostimulants, growth promoters and physiological booster in aquatic animals. In this research, the effect of persimmon leaf extract (Diospyros kaki) on the hematological and immunity indices of juvenile’s common carp have been investigated. For this purpose, a total of 400 juvenile common carp with an average weight of16.11±2.75 were randomly divided into four groups with three replicates. Persimmon leaf extract in values of 0, 1, 3 and 5% were added into diets and fish were fed with 3% of body weight for 60 days at 3 times. Comparison of the blood parameters indicated that the highest levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit and red blood cell were observed in the treatment containing the high concentration of persimmon leaf extract (P<0.05). The differential count of white cells indicated that highest concentrations of monocytes, lymphocytes and neutrophils were found in the treatment containing 5% of leaf extract. There was no significant difference between total protein and glucose in experimental and control treatments (P>0.05). The level of cholesterol was significantly higher in 5% treatment (P<0.05). The activity of protease and alkaline phosphatase enzymes, as well as the levels of immunoglobulin and lysozyme in mucus of fish, were significantly higher in treatments than in control and the highest amount was observed in 5% treatment (P<0.05). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the leaf extract can be used as a nutritional supplement to strengthen safety indicators in common carp.

This study was done to improve pigmentation rate of blood parrot by bile salt incorporation into the diet enriched with astaxanthin. The fish (mean weight 25.5±2.6 g and length 6.34±0.43 cm) were fed for 90 days using three different treatments, including control (basic diet), astaxanthin (enriched with 4g/kg astaxanthin) and astaxanthin-bile salt (enriched with 4 g and 1200 mg of astaxanthin and bile salt per kg of diet, respectively). The results showed that growth performance parameters (specific growth rates as an exception) were significantly improved in the fish fed on astaxanthin enriched diet (P<0.05). While fish fed the diet enriched with astaxanthin-bile salt did not show such an improvement (P>0.05). Colorimetric analysis showed that the period for the highest pigmentation intensity in fish fed the astaxanthin-bile salt are lower (about one-third) than the fish fed on diet enriched with astaxanthin (30 vs 90 days). At the end of the feeding trail, biochemical analysis showed that the fish fed on astaxanthin+bile salt diet had the highest skin carotenoid concentration (P<0.05). Colorimetric analysis using reflection spectroscopy showed the highest red color intensity in fish fed on the diet enriched with astaxantin-bile salt. In summary, it could be concluded that adding bile salt to the astaxantin enriched diet could improve pigment retention rate into the skin of parrot fish which rectify fish marketability.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary XTRACT on growth, survival and body composition of Carassius gibelio. For this purpose, goldfish fry with a mean weight of 7.53±0.17 gr and a length of 8.34±0.26 cm in 6 treatments with three replicates were distributed randomly in 18 aquaria with 80 liters water capacity. The commercial XTRACT diet was added to diets at levels of 100 (X100), 200 (X200), 300 (X300), 400 (X400), 500 (X500) mg / kg and control diet without XTRACT. The breeding period was considered to be 12 weeks. Growth indices, including weight gain, specific growth rate, body weight gain, status index, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, protein yield, and fat yield were measured for growth indices and comparison between treatments at the end of breeding period. The results showed that the treatment fed 200 mg/kg diet of commercial XTRACT material had significant differences with the control group in the final weights, weight gain, body weight gain percentage, specific protein yield, protein yield, lipid yield and reduction in feed conversion ratio (P<0.05). In terms of survival rate of fish, the highest survival rate was observed in treatments containing different levels of commercial matter. The analysis of the chemical composition showed that the highest protein and moisture content were in X200 and X100 mg/kg of XTRACT commercial feed and also the highest mean muscle fat in the control treatment. As a general conclusion, it can be stated that the use of 200 mg/kg of commercial XTRACT in the goldfish diet can increase and improve the growth and survival index in goldfish. The addition of commercial XTRACT to 200 mg / kg of feed for goldfish is suggested.

Water Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)is a physicochemical index of water affected by a combination of oxidation and reduction agents in water and wastewater. In addition to affecting many water quality parameters, this index indicates a general quality of water and wastewater. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different levels of water ORP on quality indices of warm-water aquaculture wastewater parameters, including COD, BOD, TOC, nitrate and phosphate. To conduct this research, triplicate wastewater treatment in four ORP treatments with levels of 250-200 (control treatment), 250-200 (first treatment), 350-300 (second treatment), 400-350 (third treatment) mv in 70 L tanks conducted in for four weeks. Different levels of ORP in treatments were performed by ozonizing device on a daily basis and the ORP was measured with an ORP digital meter. According to the results, by increasing the ORP level in treatments, BOD, COD and nitrate factors decreased significantly but increasing of ORP level did not show significant effect on phosphate and TOC factors. In addition, the results of the study showed using of oxidizing agents such as ozone and regulating of ORP range could be used as an appropriate tool for improving the quality indices of warm-water aquaculture wastewater.

The present study was aimed at determining the effects of dietary Yucca schidigera extract on growth, feed and water quality of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Fish with an average weight of 18.89±1.65 g and 12.40±0.77 cm was tested in four treatments, each with three replicates for 60 days (First period: 50 days without ammonia stress) and (Second period: 10 days under ammonia stress of 0.024 mg /L). Different levels of plant extract 0% (control), 0.5% (Y1), 1% (Y2) and 1.5% (Y3) were spread on the commercial diet. The results showed that fish fed in Y3 experimental had significant difference in final weight, weight gain, daily growth rate and specific growth rate compared with control (P<0.05). The lowest feed conversion ratio (FCR) observed in group fed diet containing 1% plant extract (Y2). At the end of experiment, 24 hours water was not replaced and water sampled every 4 hours. Ammonia (TAN) increased from 16 to 24 hours. The results indicate that different concentrations of Yucca extract affect the growth performance and Ammonia water. Based on the results obtained from the measurement of non-specific immune factors can be stated that Yucca extract stimulates the immune but not statistically significant effect in some cases there is need for further studies.

Diazinon is one of the most important organophosphoric pesticide used in agricultural fields and can effect on immune system. In this study, the effects of sub lethal doses of diazinon (0.8, 1.6 and 3.2 mg/l) on the expression of immune genes (TNFalfa and IL-1) in the liver of zebrafish (Danio rerio) were assessed during 30 days. For this purpose, sampling were done from each treatment at the end of trail. RNA extracted from liver, cDNA synthesized using Suprime ScriptRTase kit and genes expression was assayed using Real-time PCR. The result showed that relative expression of both studied genes significantly increased (P<0.05) in all studied treatments compared to control group. The amount of both studied gene expression was increased in the highest dose and amount of expression was 3.7, 3.9 and 6.6 fold of the control in TNFalfa and 3.96, 4.1 and 5.1 fold of control in IL-1. The results showed that TNFalfa and IL-1 in molecular level as the first cellular response, could be considered as an effective factor for monitoring of ecotoxicological alternations.

Study of affecting factors on the consumer’s behavior leads to the recognition of their behavior, which marketers can only supply a product that meets the needs of consumers and maximizes their satisfaction. In this study, factors affecting fish consumption in Babolsar were investigated. The data were collected through random interviews and randomly-survey in shopping centers, markets, and other parts of the city, according to the share of the three areas of the municipality, classified randomly. According to the population of 91679 households in Babolsar, 110 sample families were selected using Cochran formula. Data were collected on demographic characteristics and consumer purchasing behavior. The results showed that the most of respondents consumes fish between 10 and 20 kilos per year. Furthermore, with 95% confidence, it can be argued that effective factors affecting on the marketing of fish have been effective. The results showed that the fish freshness is the most important factors and difficulty of preparing of fresh fish in relation to fish fillets in the package is considered as the least important factor affecting the behavior of fish consumers.
